La Cala de Mijas celebrates its own festivals, such as the annual fair which begins on the 25th July. During this time the village is all decked out for a week of festivities, when you can sample the traditional sherry, wines and tapas while listening to local music and enjoying the dancing.
Something that cannot be missed is the wide range of beach bars and restaurants that can be found directly on the beach. These so called “Chiringuitos” are typical for the region and serve delicious seafood along with other dishes and all types of drinks.
